PWC Logistics has acquired a warehouse facility in Beirut, Lebanon from the Spinneys group. The move extends the reach of PWC’s supply network into Lebanon and its ports on the Mediterranean Sea. “Lebanon is a vibrant and growing market with access to the Mediterranean,” says Essa Al-Saleh, PWC Logistics’ managing director, corporate development. “This warehouse is a natural addition to our existing network of facilities and brings us another step closer to achieving our vision of a seamless supply network covering the entire Middle East.” PWC plans to overhaul the facility and use it to provide third-party logistics (3PL) services. Improvements will include installing the EXceed WMS warehouse management system to improve inventory tracking, and putting in very narrow aisle (VNA) racks to increase storage capacity. PWC has also signed a major customer in Lebanon, Spinneys. Under the agreement, PWC will provide warehousing and distribution services to Spinneys retail stores in Lebanon, located in Beirut, Tripoli and Sidon, for fourteen years. The company has similar agreements with Co-op stores in Kuwait and the Jawad Group in Bahrain.
