Single Digits the hotspot management software vendor has signed up hospitality consultant Thomas Klein International (TKI) to deploy its WiFi (wireless fidelity) billing software at the T-Junction outlet in Emirates Towers and at Elements Café in Wafi City, Dubai. Single Digits’ managed hotspot software will enable TKI customers with WiFi-enabled devices (smart phones and Centrino notebooks) to access high-speed, wireless internet access. “At Thomas Klein, we strive to blend traditional heritage with modern conveniences,” says Daniel During, general manager, TKI. “Single Digits’ customisable hotspot services are a web-based extension of our philosophy that enables customers to be more productive while visiting our venues.” “We can enable any food service organisation to customise the hotspot site to reflect their business and set access fees according to their market, in the same manner as a restaurant owner would design a menu to capture the customers’ attention and set meal pricing according to their clientele,” says Single Digits’ director of operations, UAE, Steven Brown. The WiFi billing software resides within Single Digits’ Network Operations Center, where the company remotely manages, monitors and support its customers — alleviating them from hiring additional technical support or directly addressing connectivity issues. Unlike competitive hotspot offerings that broadcast their goods and services at the customer site or allocate only a portion of the connectivity proceeds to the hotspot host, Single Digits’ claims its package empowers the hotspot host to become an actual Internet Service Provider (ISP) and retain 100% of the proceeds. The new Wi-Fi internet service is scheduled to be fully operational by the end of October at Thomas Klein’s Dubai outlets. Earlier last month, Computer Zone unveiled similar WiFi access services at the Al Musalla Towers mall in Bur Dubai over an area of 2,000 square feet.
