ADS Tech’s easy-to-use range of products is intended for home users. The company’s Instant Video MPX allows users to connect analog and digital devices such as a VCR, camcorder or DVD player to their PC via their USB or FireWire ports for downloading video and converting it to the DVD format. The new ADS Tech hardware incorporates the latest video encoder/decoder chips and an advanced hardware MPEG2 codec to compress captured video 100:1 in real time, while providing high-quality video on-screen. ADS’s regional representative Tawfik Djafari says: “Many people have old home movies on VHS they’d like to have preserved on DVD, our products make this process very simple.” Djafari says during the process of transferring the VHS footage onto DVD, ADS’s equipment has a device that will improve the quality of the images. “It does as much as possible to fix the colours, although obviously it cannot change the resolution – we’re talking about pixels after all.” Another product the company is exhibiting at this year’s Gitex is the Media Link Digital Entertainment Receiver that can be used to deliver digital entertainment from a PC and the Internet to any TV or stereo in the home or office. The device can be wall mounted and is controlled by a single remote. The Media-Link enables consumers and businesses to access PC-stored TV shows, movies and photos to any connected TV. Users can also listen to MP3 audio files and Internet radio on any connected stereo. All of these features are available without moving the PC or having to burn discs and carry them from room to room so they can be shared. Media Link allows users to view in Internet on their big TV screen from the comfort of their favourite sofa.
