The signing of the first regional MOU to bring a full digital home bundle to DSL subscribers has been announced at this year’s Gitex. The MOU will be signed between Awalnet, the Saudi ISP, and Active Mania, one of the region's first digital home software developers. Based on the agreement, Awalnet's DSL subscribers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will be offered Active Mania's ActiSuite solution featuring a host of new services; namely multimedia content, single and multiplayer gaming, video conferencing, online TV shopping, news, and weather services. The bundle will initially be offered in Riyadh and will soon move on to reach other cities throughout the Kingdom. Active Mania’s chief technical officer Ribal Zwein says features include access to full supermarket shopping, which you can order from the comfort your home television screen. “People can order everything from two packets of their favourite cereal to a specific number of different fruits. Whatever they want,” Zwein says.
