Access Communications Solutions (ACS) has teamed up with four IT and telecoms testing and measurement specialists to give it a strong presence on its Gitex debut. The Dubai Internet City (DIC) based distributor is at the exhibition for the first time, following its formation in January 2004. Various demonstrations are taking place on ACS’ stand, including products and solutions from its US-based partner, NetTest. It offers multi-layer testing, trouble-shooting and monitoring systems for optical, wireless, wireline, broadband and enterprise networks, and recently completed a project to verify monopoly operator, Etisalat’s fibre optic networks around the UAE. IXIA, meanwhile, is also showcasing its testing solutions on ACS’ stand, which are used by network equipment manufacturers, semiconductor manufacturers, service providers and large enterprises to validate the functionality of their infrastructure and the reliability of complex internet protocol (IP) networks, devices and applications. In addition, Concord is conducting presentations of its business service management (BSM) software after recently appointing ACS as an authorised reseller in the region. In particular, the vendor is focusing on its eHealth suite, which is able to measure the quality of service delivered by business, internet or network applications. It has also launched an integrated performance and fault management system at the exhibition. Finally, ACS is looking to highlight fusion splice machines from Furukawa Electric, after signing a deal recently to distribute the vendor’s equipment in the Middle East. The manufacturer, based in Japan, develops fibre optic cables, photonic products, power cables, non-ferrous metals and electronic devices, and recently restructured its distribution and marketing network in a bid to increase its overseas sales.
