ACCPAC touts CRM

ACCPAC,which was acquired by the Sage Group this February for US$112.6 million, is excited about this year’s Gitex as the business applications vendor is using Gitex 2004 to highlight vertical specific solutions.

ACCPAC,which was acquired by the Sage Group this February for US$112.6 million, is excited about this year’s Gitex. After a winning run over the past five years, the small-to-medium sized business (SMB) application vendor is drawing customers to its application portfolio, which includes customer relationship management (CRM), Advantage Series, HR Series, business analysis suite, warehouse management system, electronic point of sale (ePOS) and Messenger series solutions. “We are using this year’s Gitex to showcase our new CRM and tell our potential customers about ACCPAC’s cross platform capabilities,” says Marc Van der Ven, vice president & general manager, ACCPAC Middle East. “Last year our CRM supported mainly IBM’s DB2 and Oracle’s RDBMS, now we have extended it cover more databases and platforms, to give customers more choice than ever before” he says. Taking the centre stage this year is the vendor’s CRM, an integrated sales, marketing, customer support and call center automation solution, which is 100% internet and WAP enabled, providing users access anytime, anywhere via a web browser or wireless device, such as a Pocket PC or WAP enabled mobile phone. ACCPAC’s CRM integrates with its Advantage Series 5.0 and Pro Series 7.1, which run on both Windows and Linux. The Arabised versions are scheduled to be available later this year. ACCPAC is also demonstrating its hosted CRM services at www.ACCPACcrm.com. The vendor is also giving out a 60-day free trial version of its CRM suite to draw in more partners and customers. “We are not signing up more partners, just because we are in a trade show, and have to, but we want to ensure, that potential partners will complement not compete with our existing 35 partners across Middle East & North Africa,” says Van der Ven. ACCPAC is also using Gitex as a customer reference platform. The DIC based vendor is promoting CDIS, a Sharjah-based oil company, which has recently signed for it’s new Linux solution. Instead of pushing its CRM ware as another horizontal off the shelf package, ACCPAC is instead focusing on industry-specific CRM apps, to differentiate in an increasingly competitive and crowded market. For instance, UAE’s CRM market alone is expected to boom over the next six years, to US$90 million by 2008 according to Madar Research. To grab a slice of this market, ACCPAC is touting its range of CRM solutions based on customer needs and budgets ranging from a low monthly fee based hosted CRM to vertical specific apps, to cross platform offerings at Gitex. Van der Ven is even more excited about next year’s Gitex as the vendor will be represented under Sage, its new parent company with a much broader product line spanning across the enterprise to SME space. “Only now the benefits of the Sage acqusition are seeping into the region. However, at next year’s Gitex we’ll be even stronger as a unfied entitity with apps from Sage and ACCPAC— for now its business as usual,” he says.
