Banking specialist actis.bsp is offering Gitex attendees the opportunity to examine its software solutions dedicated to the development, implementation and support of fully integrated and flexible international banking software solutions for investment, private, wholesale and retail banking. The vendor is not only targeting potential customers but is also looking for regional partners as it considers setting up a branch office in Dubai. The development of the Dubai International Finance Centre is persuading more of the region’s banks to locate in Dubai increasing the local demand for banking software solutions according to actis.bsp. “We want partners familiar with the region with the right contacts and knowledge,” says Veronique Boizard, marketing manager at 170-strong actis.bsp. “This could be one partner or several but they will be in a position to develop sales leads and represent actis.bsp.” As well as its ACTIS PABA/Q modular product for transaction processing, actis.bsp is also showcasing BSP Trade for securities, futures and options trading, and BSP Innova solution covering money markets, foreign exchange and derivatives. actis.bsp has a global client list including The National Bank of Egypt (NBE) and Bank of China. NBE, the third largest bank in the Arab region according to actis.bsp, recently updated its BSP Trade securities solution to release 7.3.1 in a project lasting four months between April and August 2004. NBE has been using BSP Trade since 2000.
