ATI-powered graphics card supplier Sapphire Technology has appointed Mohammed Ibrahim as manager of its Middle East operation. Ibrahim brings over 15 years experience of the Middle East IT channel including positions at major vendors and distributors. Ibrahim’s first priority will be to strengthen the reach of Sapphire’s distribution channel in the region. “Sapphire is a market leader in Europe and I believe it can emulate that position in the Middle East,” said Ibrahim. “The plan is to appoint further in-country distributors to complement our existing partners and increase Sapphire’s presence in key markets such as Iran, Saudi Arabia and Egypt.” As well as showcasing its new regional manager at Gitex, Sapphire will also be displaying high performance ATI-based products aimed at end users and OEMs including its Sapphire RADEON TOXIC X800 family and RADEON 9600 XT All-In-Wonder offering.
