US Robotics plots channel expansion

US Robotics has enhanced support for channel partners in its Reseller.Set.Connect programme after boosting the tools and resources on offer. The networking vendor hopes that its beefed up benefits package will persuade hundreds of Middle East resellers to sign up.

Networking vendor US Robotics has enhanced support for channel partners in its Reseller.Set.Connect programme after boosting the tools and resources on offer. The networking vendor hopes that its beefed up benefits package will persuade hundreds of Middle East resellers to sign up. The revamp aims to boost the programme’s value to resellers and enhance their profitability. The first hundred resellers registering their interest in the programme through US Robotics’ Middle East website will also receive a free wireless PC card. The scheme, aimed at value-added resellers (VARs), offers various tools and resources including white papers, launch kits, ad builders and the chance to buy demonstration units at 50% off list price. Resellers signing up also receive a feast of e-mail communication on the programme, products and technology updates. “At US Robotics, we are committed to helping our value-added-resellers become more successful and profitable by helping them provide their customers with the best technology, service and support. With this aim, we have expanded the range of communication and training tools available in our reseller support programme, as well as boosting overall priority service support,” said Peter Blampied, director of sales and operations, EMEA, US Robotics. “In the Middle East, our resellers have to go an extra mile in combating market realities, where the distinction between a high-quality product and its cheaper imitation is often blurred by both lack of knowledge and the price sensitive nature of a large segment of the market,” said Yusuf Syed, regional manager Middle East at US Robotics. “Our resellers have helped us carve a niche, in which our products are increasingly being appreciated as the technology leaders that they most certainly are. Our decision to expand the VAR Programme will provide our channel partners with more resources and technical support to enhance their market position, add further value to their reseller-customer relationships and, in the process, increase their profitability.” US Robotics’ Reseller.Set.Connect programme is targeted at VARs pushing connectivity and networking kit into the SOHO and SMB market segments.
