Egyptian vendor Microtech’s Infinity ERP solution has been selected by retail giant Al-Hokair Group to streamline retail activities across its 400 outlets throughout Saudi Arabia and other countries in the region. Al-Hokair, which is a wholesale distributor of over 45 international brands, including Marks & Spencer, Zara, Nike, Massimo Dutti, Adams and La Senza is currently implementing financials, logistics, retail and enterprise resource management (ERM) solutions. “Microtech Infinity ERP provides Al-Hokair with a robust business solution that will support its ambitious growth and development plans. It enables the group to effectively share information between its administration and retail arms, while reducing its administrative and operational costs,” says Tamer Maher, vice president business development, Microtech. The solution will also help the group develop more effective cross-channel sales strategies, improve their supply chain management (SCM), besides gives a higher level of financial and accounting control to managers in the group, and provides them with fast, online access to key financial metrics. Using the open system architecture, any module can be interfaced or detached whenever required without affecting the other modules, according to business requirements. It supports connectivity to third party add-ons through special APIs as well. Other modules, which will be rolled out in the future include manufacturing, merchandising and human resources. Mainly targeting mid-to large-sized companies, Microtech Infinity ERP enables companies to exchange data among management, HR, finance, and operational departments, and with both suppliers and customers. “Businesses in the Middle East have special requirements and it’s important to take that into consideration. Localisation is a key selling point for us, which differentiates us from other global ERP vendors,” says Maher. “Regional organisations need to use ERP software that reflects the accounting, human resources and legal requirements of the countries they operate in. We provide country-specific functionality in areas such as payroll and tax.” To ensure the client’s maximum return on investment, Microtech provides free pre-sale consultation on which services and products would be required to ensure a fault-free operation. “A robust ERP system that demands a three-year rollout won’t help much if you need a short implementation cycle. Companies [also] buy multimillion-dollar software packages only to find out that they don’t work well—for some of their key business processes. We enable our customers to identify such processes by interviews and research techniques to ensure that all functional managers agree as to what business processes [should] exist,” claims Maher. Microtech Infinity’s other regional ERP customers include multinationals such as British American Tobacco, Procter & Gamble Egypt (P&G), Vinci, Enser, Metro Market, Rashideen Egypt and the Al-Subeaei Group.
