Fujitsu Siemens is targeting business users with the launch of the latest models in its Pocket LOOX range, which feature integrated Bluetooth and WiFi support as well as optional GPRS functionality. Innovative software in both the Pocket LOOK 710 and 720 allows the user to find the right connection type from the wide range of options, making it quicker and easier to connect to the internet. “Professional users in the Middle East are looking for increasingly versatile handhelds that can keep pace with dynamic work requirements while away from the office,” said Susanne Lewitski, product marketing manager for Fujitsu Siemens Middle East. Both the 710 and the 720 are based on Microsoft’s Pocket PC 2003 operating system and the Intel PXA272 processor with 64MB of stacked memory. The 720 also features a 1.2 megapixel camera which can take still or video images. Users can upgrade the 700 series models, with both featuring card input options, including Compact Flash card slot type I and II, allowing the user to add options such as GSM/GPRS, GPS adapter, scanners and so on. Average battery life is given by Fujitsu Siemens as around 12 hours operating time, with both models being supplied with a second main battery which can be exchanged with the original.
