TwinMos widens range with Gitex launches

The Middle East arm of memory manufacturer TwinMos Technologies is due to expand its product range at Gitex with the launch of new memory components and consumer devices.

The Middle East arm of memory manufacturer TwinMos Technologies is due to expand its product offering at this year’s Gitex show through the launch of new memory components and consumer devices. TwinMos has its own manufacturing facility and produces memory module solutions for all types of IT and consumer electronics products, both to sell under its own brand and to OEM customers. The firm also manufactures memory storage accessories, such as MMC and SD cards, and wireless communications devices including access points and WLAN cards. "We’ll be promoting our latest products, which are just coming to the market," explains Muhd Mazharul Islam, managing director, TwinMos Technologies Middle East, "such as the DDL 2 series of fast memory. We’ll also be showcasing our Digital Album. This is a USB product that incorporates a hard drive and LCD display. It can slideshow all the pictures stored in the hard drive, as well as playing movie clips and MP3 files." In addition to launching these products, TwinMos will showcase its MP3 player line-up, with strong focus on its expandable Go To Music model, an MP3 and FM tuner device that can be expanded up to 1GB using MMC or SD expansion cards. The firm will also display its 1GB MultiMedia Card (MMC) and its gigantic new 4GB flash disk, aimed at demanding mobile users. Islam says that exhibiting at Gitex is key to doing business in the region. TwinMos’ three primary reasons for attending are, he says, "in the field of consumer electronics, showcasing new products, secondly we have a large number of customers across the region, so we’ll be meeting these and discussing how to build our brand and image, and thirdly, we’ll be looking at the potential market and meeting visitors." "Gitex is the meeting point for all kinds of suppliers, distributors and dealers from all around the Middle East and Africa," he asserts. "We’ll be showcasing our latest products and services to all the potential customers coming to Gitex to promote our brand across the MEA." Since arriving in the region just over two and a half years ago, TwinMos has already set-up operations in 40 countries throughout the Middle East and Africa. It managed to turnover $15 million in the region last year and Islam predicts this figure will double over the course of 2004.
