Genius Computer Technology Ltd, distributor of KYE products throughout the MEA region, is keen to push its consumer electronics offerings at this year’s Gitex show. "We will be focusing a lot on the latest technologies introduced by Genius for its home theaters, as well as our full range of digital cameras and peripherals, especially those that are used with notebooks," said Jihad Youssef, sales and marketing director, Genius Computer Technology (GCT). Genius recently introduced a new technology into its home theater products. Called Unique In²Vision Carbon Fiber flat-panel technology, this space saving innovation allows Genius to build full-range satellite speakers in a super slim style. Each silver satellite measures just 2.3cm thick, meaning these can be easily and conveniently located around a user’s living space. The firm also plans to launch new digital camera products at the show, including a high-end six mega pixel model, and may also choose Gitex 2004 to introduce new home theatre and digital camcorder models. As for its notebook peripherals, visitors to Genius’ stand will be able to check out mice that change color, super-slim scanners, and Genius’ entire range of IT peripherals, such as game devices, networking products, digital cameras and speakers. Genius will support its stand presence with presentations of its latest products, in addition to hosting a separate Demo Room, which Youssef claimed is "an ideal concept for our customers to view all our products. Besides that, we are supporting Gitex Shopper with special promotions and exciting offers." Genius will also be holding a "big event", according to Youssef, for all its channel partners and regional distributors. This year will be the seventh in a row that GCT has attended Gitex. "Participating in Gitex allows us to introduce our latest technology and products, and the exhibition is always attended by our targeted segment of the market, making it easier to meet with all our clients at once," explains Youssef. "Gitex does play an important role in our continued success, due to the fact that all IT professionals around the Middle East wait for Gitex to visit and to explore all the products and learn more about the technologies offered around." Youssef reckons Gitex is "the event of the year for the IT industry in the Middle East." Genius Computer Technology’s headquarters are based in Dubai. The company also operates branches in Iran, Lebanon and Qatar.
