While Sony will feature its popular PlayStation console at the Mini-PlayStation arena at this year’s Gitex, the company will also use the exhibition to show visitors its high-end digital products. “Digital technology is the in-thing now and Gitex 2004 will offer visitors a rare advantage to take a close look at Sony’s cutting-edge technology that powers some of the most sought-after products world over,” says Masaru Tamagawa, managing director, Sony Gulf FZE, the regional arm of Sony. “The Middle East is a very discerning market and Gitex has always been the ideal platform for Sony to introduce and showcase its array of superior consumer electronics products. This year, the Sony stall at Gitex will reflect our focus on high-end digital products which we consider as the engine of growth for Sony.” Products on display this year will range from Sony’s flat panel TVs – based on its proprietary WEGA technology – digital cameras and camcorders, its VAIO Pocket digital music player, through to its USB-enabled storage device the Micro Vault and its constant-carry PC VAIO U. “The focus on our digital product range at the premier ICT show is in line with Sony’s global strategy,” says Tamagawa. “This exhibition is a great platform for us to showcase the latest that Sony has to offer.”
