UPS vendor APC has expanded its Middle East team with the appointment of Aziz Ala’ali as a new enterprise account manager. Aziz initial role at APC will involve the co-ordination of major project opportunities across the region. Based out of the Dubai office, Aziz will travel frequently to Kuwait, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia to serve enterprise account customers for APC. APC continues to see a number of large project opportunities around the Middle East region, including in Iraq. With power supply still intermittent at times in Iraq, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) equipment is a ‘must have’ piece of hardware for anyone deploying or using IT equipment in the country and requiring decent levels of uptime and no loss of data. Aziz joins APC from Future Power — a company he founded where he worked as a business development manager promoting renewable energy sources. Aziz has also worked for supply chain management (SCM) software vendor Commerce One as a regional e-government manager and spent some time as regional technical marketing manager at Microsoft. Aziz’s CV also includes several positions at IBM/Lotus. APC offers a broad portfolio of UPS products and solutions targeted at everyone from a home user through to an enterprise account. To serve such a wide customer base, the vendor requires multiple channels-to-market and also the ability to provide dedicated vendor support at an enterprise level.
