Boeing Commercial Airplanes has restructured its global sales operations and created a new region focused on the Middle East and Africa. Heading up the division will be Lee Monson, who has been named as vice president, sales, Middle East and Africa. The airframe maker says the new structure will help it further expand its relations with airlines in the Middle East. Prior to the realignment, the Middle East and Africa were grouped into a larger area also encompassing Russia and Southeast Asia. Doug Groseclose, who headed up the old region, will be helping Monson as he move into the role. Monson has also had some Middle East experience through his last role, which was heading up global sales for Boeing Business Jets. “Lee’s strong aviation background, professionalism and dedication towards building long-lasting relationships with clients makes him ideally suited to fulfill Boeing’s strategic plans in the Middle East and Africa,” commented Toby Bright, vice president, Boeing Commercial Airplanes.
