Oasis launches PC promo in Jordan

Jordan has jumped on the Middle East PC promo bandwagon with local IT player Oasis unveiling its SAMsync range as part of its home PC initiative.

Jordan has jumped on the Middle East PC promo bandwagon with local IT player Oasis unveiling its SAMsync range as part of its home PC initiative. Working alongside major vendors including Intel, Samsung and Microsoft, Oasis will begin assembling in Jordan at its new factory in the Al-Zarqa free zone on September 1st. The SAMsync PC promotion aims to increase home ownership among all sectors of the society by offering flexible installment-based payment options. Moutaz Abu Rumman, general manager at Oasis, recently unveiled the scheme at a breakfast briefing held in Amman, Jordan. Rumman expects up to 100,000 customers to purchase a SAMsync PC during the next three to four years. With an average selling price estimated at US$500, Rumman reckons the total business could be worth US$50m during that period. The PC promotion is being launched in association with Jordan Telecom and customers will have the option of paying for their PC alongside their telephone bill. SAMsync will offer three locally assembled PC models for customers to choose from: SAMsync Value for home use, SAMsync MegaTech for office use and SAMsync Gaming Machine for demanding users. Alternatively, buyers can customise the PC to their own individual specifications. SAMsync will operate a network of service centres with all machines boasting a two-year warranty. Rumman reckons that the total Jordanian PC market is already in excess of 150,000 units per annum.
