OnLine Distribution has beefed up its network infrastructure portfolio. Middle East resellers buying from the networking distributor can now purchase a slew of new products from Belden, Corning, Ortronics, Zebra and Avocent. “Network infrastructure is one of the major areas of growth especially with the construction boom in the region,” said Keith Rich, managing director at OnLine Distribution. “One of the key components of most building construction, these days, is the need for internet and security cabling. This requires a high level of sophistication and owners are encouraging their architects and contractors to ensure the infrastructure is in place from the construction stage.” 40-strong OnLine has extended its Belden cabling range and now offers the vendor’s category 6 DataTwist Combustible cable line. Corning’s OptiSplice Premier (iLiD) Fusion Splicer also makes its debut in OnLine’s product catalogue. Ideal for networks demanding low-loss performance and accuracy it includes the industry’s first completely integrated, full-feature PC, offering a variety of features never before found on a fusion splicer. Ortronics has launched Clarity Shielded Solutions for enhanced Category 6 and Category 5e performance with added protection from EMI, RFI, and alien cross talk, external noise sources that can negatively affect channel performance. The new four-pair shielded connectivity system includes TracJack workstation modules, patch cords and patch panel kits. OnLine has also introduced Zebra’s XML-enabled R110Xi combined printer-encoder. The bar code and smart label printing solution is designed for companies using ERP, warehousing and supply chain software from enterprise vendors such as Oracle or SAP. Last but not least on OnLine’s new product list is the Avocent EVR1500. This latest addition to the Avocent DS Series offers a comprehensive suite of IP-based solutions for managing servers, serial devices and environmental conditions in the rack. Based in Jebel Ali, OnLine Distribution is part of Datatec — an international networking and IT services group with operations in Europe, North America, South America, the Middle East and the Asia Pacific region. Since losing its status as a Cisco Distribution Partner for the Middle East at the start of 2004, OnLine Distribution has worked hard to diversify its portfolio and provide alternative vendor options to its reseller base.
