eCompany, Etisalat’s e-business arm, has reduced the hourly rate on two of its internet access services by more than 20 per cent. The company said this week that it was dropping charges for its Dial ‘N’ Surf and Prepaid Internet services from 9AED down to 7.2AED, in a bid to encourage more occasional users or mobile users to access the internet. “We are reaching out to occasional users or those on the move with these price reductions,” said Abdulla Hashim, senior manager, eCompany. “We are encouraging more users to access the internet and going the extra mile by providing them instant access with no procedures. These two services also offer cost control and portability to users who may shy away from using the internet due to procedural issues.” Dial ‘N’ Surf allows users in the UAE to get connected to the internet without the need for any service subscription or documentation, by dialing an access number. Users are charged directly to the phone number they are dialing from. Prepaid Internet works with prepaid scratch cards, with the user dialing 128 plus the 14 digit number on the prepaid card.
