Yash Raj Films has confirmed the largest order for audio equipment ever placed by a film company in India. The company has placed orders for a 60 fader frame Neve 88R, a DFC and two Libra Post consoles, three AudioFile SC editors, offline Encore and a StarNet network from AMS Neve for its studios. The music studio at Yash Raj will be equipped with the 88R analogue console, the Foley Room will be equipped with a 12 fader Libra Post console and an integrated 32 track AudioFile SC editor and the main film theatre will feature a 40 fader DFC2 and an integrated AudioFile recorder/editor. All four of the consoles will use AMS Neve’s Encore automation and consoles and will be networked together via AMS Neve’s StarNet. Offline Encore will run on a PC to enable off line management of mixes and set ups, increasing the efficiency of studio use. StarNet will also link the AudioFiles together enabling instant transfer of projects, sharing of FX libraries, efficient management of media and centralised back up and restore. Media Tool Box software will provide efficient conversion of files if other audio formats are required for interchange with video editors. StarNet will be interlinked to the facility wide network.
