Dell has introduced two new accessories for its recently announced Dell Axim X30 handhelds. Users can now stay on course and in contact with Dell’s GPS navigation system and executive keyboard, both of which connect to Dell’s latest batch of PDAs via Bluetooth wireless technology. Axim X30 owners such as road warriors and delivery drivers can use the GPS system to find the quickest routes, remain productive and stay in touch. The system can be voice-prompted, and offers turn-by-turn directions as well as and graphic instructions. For users who want to input data more quickly and effectively than with a stylus, Dell’s Axim executive keyboard is a full-size QWERTY model that has been optimised for use with text-based applications while connected to a WiFi network. When not being used it folds into a compact package about the size of a passport wallet. This ‘Stowaway’ branded device also comes with a detachable stand to hold the Axim X30, allowing users to view their PDA’s display in either landscape or portrait form. Prices for Dell’s Axim X30 GPS system and Stowaway executive keyboard have yet to be confirmed.
