Dubai 2005 appoints sales agent for SE Asia

The next Dubai air show should attract more interest from South East Asia, after Zara Asia Network was appointed as sales agent for the region.

Next year's Dubai air show should attract more exhibitors from South East Asia, after Fairs & Exhibitions (F&E), the organisers of the show, appointed a sales agent for the region. Singapore-based Zara Asia Network (ZAN) will now promote Dubai 2005, the Emirate’s ninth air show, throughout Singapore, Brunei, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand. “ZAN was selected for its extensive contacts built up in South East Asia's aviation industry over 20 years,” explains Clive Richardson, chief executive, Aerospace Group, F&E. “We are very confident that this new partnership will now result in a much wider and larger South East Asian presence at the Dubai air show.” ZAN also suggests that the initial response to Dubai 2005 from both the private and public sector in South East Asia has been encouraging. “We are following up keen interest from the government sector in Malaysia and possible independent private sector participation, particularly from the manufacturing and maintenance segments, in Singapore and Indonesia,” comments ZAN’s managing director, Zahara Mahpuz. The air show will also benefit from more exhibition space as plans have been announced for a 10,000 m2 third hall, which will be built in the open area between the reception building and the current East and West halls. “The expanded facilities will help meet increased demand for space at Dubai 2005, which is the fastest-growing air show in the world's fastest-growing aviation region,” says Alison Weller, project manager, Dubai 2005, F&E.
