EMC has released the customer installable CLARiiON AX100 networked storage system for the Small to medium-sized business market in the Middle East. The device is capable of storing up to three terabytes of information and has integrated functions for simple management and advanced protection. The unit is designed to be easy to install, use and maintain, and is aimed at businesses that are migrating from direct-attached storage (DAS) to storage area network (SAN) or network attached storage (NAS) environments for the first time. EMC has integrated many of the features from the CLARiiON CX system into the EMC CLARiiON AX100. “EMC Middle East has realized tremendous market share gains beyond our traditional enterprise customer base with our mid-level storage offerings, and we believe that regional customers will realize similar business benefits from the CLARiiON AX100. This system will give EMC Middle East users an entry point from which they can scale and effectively manage their information throughout its lifecycle, effectively creating an entirely new range of customers for our solutions," says Mohammed Amin, general manager of EMC Middle East.
