Electrical material manufacturing and supply company, Hesham El-Sewedy Enterprises (HSE), has announced that it has selected mySAP Business Suite to increase efficiency and automate its business processes, both in terms of internal operations as well as services. Explaining the company’s reason for selecting mySAP Business Suite Ragheb Madhoun, HSE’s managing director says, “SAP’s leadership in providing ERP solutions and their professional technical support was a major factor for us choosing SAP. Their stability and steady growth in the past gave us the confidence that we are joining hands with a partner on whom we could rely for long-term support.” Hesham El-Sewedy is part of the El-Sewedy Group, which started as a small outlet in 1940’s. HSE carries a wide range of products such as field of electric cables, cable management, switchgear, and lighting. It distributes its products in several countries with its own branches in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt, Lebanon and Sudan through an extensive warehousing network and fleet of vehicles. The electrical material manufacturer of electric cables, cable management, switchgear and lighting believes the implementation will improve its supply chain management (SCM) and optimise operations to minimise costs and support growth. Being a sales and distribution company, the HSE’s critical business success factor lies in its efficient purchase and logistics operations. HSE is currently working with SAP Arabia to design the new system. The project is scheduled to be implementated in December this year and go live by June 2005. Modules include SAP Financials, Human Resource, Material Management, Sales & Distribution. Prior to the ERP initiative, large part of HSE’s workflow was manual with information accessed from SQL Gupta database. “Having over 64,000 installations [of SAP] covering different companies, industries and sizes gave us proof that we would get best of practices solutions. SAP will also help us in reducing our unnecessary operating expenses and to effectuate the Kingdom’s direction with Saudisation,” adds Madhoun.
