Emirates Palace, the seven star hotel set to open soon in Abu Dhabi, is to feature state of the art technology, including plasma screens in guest rooms and wireless internet access throughout. There will be 755 plasma TVs in total at the hotel, including a 125 cm screen in each regular guest room and a 150 cm screen in each of the suites. Guests will be able to access the internet, wirelessly, from anywhere in the property, including the 1300 metre long beach, pools, marina and gardens. According to general manager Willy Optekamp, the hotel will make use of the technology to introduce a range of entertainment services. “We will create an Emirates Palace Online Library offering an extensive range of books, films and music that our guests can choose from during their stay,” says Optekamp. “You can take your laptop to the beach and watch your favourite movie, pick one of the latest bestseller books to read online or even have the book read to you using text on speech technology.”
