Emirates is to add a 17th weekly service to Tehran from 16th September, reflecting growing demand for travel between Iran and Dubai. The new flight is targeted at business travellers in particularly, as it gives an extra frequency on Thursdays. The Dubai-Tehran leg takes off at 18:15 and lands in Iran at 20:45. The return trip departs Mehrabad International at 22:15 and touches down in Dubai at 23:45. “The UAE’s trade ties with Iran have been very strong traditionally and continue to grow rapidly. Emirates’ new additional frequency is timed to help our business passengers travel home at the weekend. It also is ideal for families on holiday as they can reach home and rest for a day, before school or office beckons on Saturdays,” says Hamad Obaidalla, Emirates’ vice president, Middle East, Gulf, Yemen & Iran. The new service will be flown with an Airbus A310, which can carry 198 passengers in two classes and up to 10 tonnes of cargo. The new service is in addition to Emirates daily 01:15 service, which operates alongside a five-times a week 07:45 service and a four-times a week 18:15 service.
