3Com is hammering home its enterprise credentials at this year’s Gitex as the networking vendor plans to demonstrate a broad range of IP telephony products, an expanded family of switches and routers, and its updated wireless platforms. Key themes of 3Com’s presence at the show include security, wireless and voice-over-internet. Although details are being kept under wraps until the show, 3Com also intends to unveil a number of world ‘firsts’ on its stand in hall six. Part of 3Com Middle East’s mission for this year’s event is to highlight the strength of its offerings for businesses through-out the Middle East. After a year of aggressive expansion in the region’s enterprise sector, executives at the company are confident that its network specialists are capable of developing the most effective, cost-competitive solutions for organisations of all sizes. “In 2004, 3Com has won significant enterprise business through-out the Middle East, working with a number of leading banking, government, hospitality and educational organisations,” says Wael Fakharany, regional manager of 3Com Middle East. “Gitex 2004 is an ideal opportunity for us to demonstrate this wealth of expertise, and also to introduce visitors to our expanded range of network solutions,” he adds. To enhance this message, 3Com will dedicate work-space on its stand to specific vertical sectors, so that visitors can speak to a network specialist with expertise in their particular industry. In addition, the company will run customer education sessions within the show which will focus on the network needs of organisations operating in these different areas.
