Broadcast Technology Ltd has been chosen by Harris Corporation to supply equipment for the Iraqi Media Network (IMN) project. The vendor's Showman 5000 analogue TV demodulators will be used across the country at transmission sites to provide monitoring capabilities. Commenting on the project, Martin Altham, international sales manager, Broadcast Technology said: "Analogue TV still provides the mainstay of television viewing around the world today. We are very pleased to be selected by Harris Corporation for this prestigious project." Harris, on behalf of the Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA) currently governing Iraq, is developing an existing but antiquated media network into a modern media organisation for the Iraqi people. The project includes equipment, operation, training, and provisioning of programming for two national radio and television networks and a national newspaper with operating locations in more than 30 locations throughout the country. Harris is currently constructing studios, satellite distribution network and transmitter sites throughout Iraq.
