LINKdotNET, one of the largest IT solutions and service providers in the Middle East, has picked up an outstanding partner award from Microsoft Egypt. Owned by Orascom Telecom, LINKdotNET is one of Egypt’s largest ISPs but has successfully branched out to cover a wider IT services and solutions remit. As well as its internet access services, the 300-strong company has also carved out a reputation in content management, web development and e-commerce solutions. “We at LINKdotNET are honoured to say that we have not only managed to gain and maintain the level of trust we have with a major international IT corporation like Microsoft, but we are also succeeding in increasing that level of trust that has earned us many awards on all levels whether local, regional or international,” said Khaled Bichara, CEO and President, LINKdotNET. Link Development — the e-business and software arm of LINKdotNET specialising in portals development, e-commerce, enterprise application integration, business intelligence, wireless and e-branding solutions — played a pivotal role in Microsoft Egypt’s decision to recognise the company as ‘Software Development Partner of the Year 2004’. At an individual level, Irini Raafat, LINKdotNET’s web products general manager, was presented with an award from Microsoft Egypt for ‘Outstanding Performance in the Enterprise’ for the year 2004. Moving beyond the provision of pure internet access to diversify into wider IT services and e-business solutions is a popular route for ISPs to take. LINKdotNET has made this move and is already involved in e-government projects in Egypt as well as operating data centre facilities and providing network solutions.
