Bahwan IT offers end-to-end IT solutions and services to customers in the Sultanate of Oman. Vendor partners include HP, Cisco, Microsoft and Oracle. The company plans to create strong reference sites showcasing the return on investment (ROI) possible with open source solutions. M.K. Janaki Raman, general manager at Bahwan IT, said: “We see a strong awareness for Linux in the corporate sector in Oman. This has given us a head start in building a strong brand name for Linux and Red Hat in the Sultanate.” “We have already made some inroads in the Oman market with some key customers including Royal Oman Police and Bank Muscat,” added Raman. “Our focus will be to address the corporate sector including banks, oil and gas, and the government.” “One of our prime objectives in the immediate future is to ensure that the enterprise end user is educated on the advantages of opting for Linux, including its economic and technical advantages,” said Tewfik Zitouni, managing director at Opennet Middle East and Africa. “Bahwan IT already has the skill sets to provide support for Linux and Red Hat and will be providing training to its clients.”
