High performance graphics card vendor Galaxy has moved a great deal closer to the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) IT channel after inking an exclusive regional distribution contract with Almasa IT Distribution at the recent Computex 2004 trade show held in Taipei. The deal has been signed with Almasa’s 3C Group Division, which concentrates on the computer, communications and consumer electronics products contained in the distributor’s portfolio. “Galaxy has already experienced success both in Europe and Asia and we are looking forward to being able to build on that success and increase both sales and profile of their brand throughout the Middle East and North Africa,” said Ebrahim Kojouri, director at Almasa’s 3C Group Division. “With their head office in Hong Kong and factory located in China, Galaxy’s business structure offers a competitive edge. Galaxy are able to offer all the advantages of technology vision and know-how combined with the cost competitiveness of production in China, which ultimately provides our resellers, and in turn end-users, with a very attractive proposition,” he added. Almasa’s responsibilities will include driving the promotion, sales, service and support of all Galaxy’s graphic card products across the entire MENA region. Galaxy designs and manufactures its own cards under the brand Zeus. The vendor also boasts a strategic partnership with NVIDIA and has developed its own line of 3G graphic cards using NVIDIA’s GeForce chipsets. The full range of VGA Galaxy GeForce graphics cards with NVIDIA chipset will be available immediately from Almasa.
