Captaris has been selected by Almarai to automate the dairy producer’s document delivery. The Right Fax 8.7 solution from the vendor will give Almarai a powerful tool to reduce costs and save time by automating delivery of business critical documents like purchase orders and invoices via fax, email, internet or directly from ERP applications. “We have a real need to extend the process automation, collaboration and efficiency gains of SAP and reduce the amount of paper throughout our international operations. Right Fax from Captaris will allow us to do that, so we can concentrate on our core business of producing dairy foods,” says Cyril Law, manager - Infrastructure and technical support, business systems, Almarai. Right Fax enterprise server and e-document delivery solution integrates and automates the flow of a full range of fax, paper and electronic documents and data. By using a fax server, companies can securely and efficiently deliver business information from virtually any application via any communication device. The solution will be integrated into Almarai’s operations centre in their Riyadh office by the end of June 2004. Almarai, which currently runs on SAP R/3 will integrate Right Fax into its ERP implementation and allows users to access the system through a simple interface. Additional features of the implementation include: support for IBM Lotus Notes/Domino, and Windows server 2003, anti-spam, encrypted document delivery, SMS Support, alerting and monitoring capabilities, which will allow Almarai to create and monitor over 100 status alerts on servers, databases and gateways simultaneously. “The choice of Right Fax was due to its inherent flexibility of use, the technical support offered throughout the Middle East and its reasonable investment, which we believe will have a positive return on investment in just a few months,” adds Law. Almarai, meaning ‘green pastures’ in Arabic, is the largest dairy foods company in the Middle East, producing milk, yogurt, juice, butter, cheese, cream and dairy desserts. “Communication is a good start, but smart businesses in the Middle East are now learning how to manage that communication in an effective and efficient manner. Right Fax gives SAP users a powerful way to reduce costs and save time by eliminating manual processes and delivering the right documents to the right destinations automatically,” says Fadi Honein, regional manager MENA, Captaris.
