Dubai Air Wing, the operator of the royal fleet, has appointed Jet Aviation Basel to outfit two Boeing 747-400 aircraft. The two companies will work together on the nose-to-tail program over the next two years. The first of the two aircraft arrived in Switzerland last month for cabin removal, after which it will undergo a heavy maintenance check. “Jet Aviation is proud to have won this new contract and we are looking forward to working with Dubai Air Wing, an impressive addition to our exclusive list of clientele, and are confident that we will develop a long-term working relationship,” says Rainer Albecker, senior vice president and general manager at Jet Aviation Basel. The two 747s will be outfitted in a head-of-state interior and will join Dubai Air Wing’s ever-growing fleet of aircraft. Gamit, the widebody maintenance and engineering consultants based at Standsted Airprot in the UK, will work with Jet Aviation Basel on technical post-aircraft production from the heavy maintenance work and throughout the entire outfitting process.
