HP has announced the dream team of partners ready to extend the IT giant’s channel reach into the fast-emerging Iraqi market. Almasa, Emitac, Scientific Medical Systems and Kuwait Danish Computer Company have all been given rights to sell part of HP’s portfolio into Iraq. As previously reported, Almasa IT Distribution has now been officially confirmed as Logistics Service Partner (LSP) and Channel Development Partner (CDP) for HP’s Imaging and Printing Group (IPG) hardware solutions. As well as building a logistics and distribution infrastructure, Almasa will also act as an extended sales and marketing team for the HP products it will carry into the marketplace. Emitac has picked up LSP and CDP rights to sell IPG kit as well as HP’s Industry Standard Servers (ISS) and Personal Systems Group (PSG) products. Both Scientific Medical Systems and Kuwait Danish Computer Company will assume the role of Sales and Service Partner (SSP) in Iraq with a remit to distribute only Intel-based HP product. “Iraq is a key market in the region and we are pleased to have selected prime channel partners who hold HP product expertise as well as local know-how to take on the task of proliferating HP’s solutions portfolio into the Iraqi marketplace,” said Hazem Bazan, solutions partners organization (SPO) manager, HP Middle East. “Iraq has been on the agenda for some time now and we are confident that by extending our network into the country and opening up our distribution channel further throughout the Middle East, we can maintain our leadership in the IT industry. We do look forward to appointing local partners in the near future.”
