Business Objects ropes in new head

Business Objects, the business intelligence (BI) software vendor has named Eryk Markiewicz, as the new regional marketing manager, responsible for the Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa (EEMEA) region.

Business Objects, the business intelligence (BI) software vendor has named Eryk Markiewicz, as regional marketing Manager, responsible for the Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa (EEMEA) region. This region represents more than 45 countries and 25 different languages in Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa. In this position, Eryk will focus on expanding and strengthening the company's presence and visibility in this region, where Business Objects currently operates through through a network of partners, resellers and integrators. Eryk Markiewicz will report to Thierry Nicault, regional director for EEMEA. Eryk Markiewicz, 38, joins the EEMEA team with more than 15 years of experience in various consulting, pre-sales and marketing management positions at software companies in North America and France. Eryk began his career as a software engineer in Calgary and Vancouver in Canada and then worked as a consultant, presales manager and product-marketing manager at Ingres, Computer Associates and Sybase. Eryk joined Business Objects in February 1999 as product marketing manager for the French Operations. He has a master's degree in engineering from the École Supérieure d'Informatique (France).
