iRiver has unveiled its new family of hard drive based audio players. Space Distribution, which will begin distributing the two new devices throughout the UAE from July, claims iRiver’s new H300 models, the H320 and H340, are the first mobile audio players to offer hard drive storage and 2-inch colour LCD displays. "We are very excited to be a part of this amazing product launch," said Ashok Daryanani, general manager, Space Distribution. iRiver’s new H300 models, the H320 and H340 are available in capacities of 20GB and 40GB respectively and will immediately replace the company's iHP-120 and iHP140 products. The new players' color LCD screens are capable of displaying JPEG and BMP images and another first, according to Space, is that they feature USB ON THE GO (OTG) or USB 2.0 host features, meaning users can connect digital cameras or card readers via USB in order to download images onto their players. The new H300 models offer multi-codec playback of file formats such as MP3, asf, wma and ogg vorbis, and are firmware upgradeable. They also incorporate FM radio tuners, voice and FM recording functions as standard. The key difference between iRiver’s H320 and H340 players is their hard drive capacities, plus the H340 will also be bundled with a docking station. This will act as a cradle from which the H340 can be recharged and its files transferred to PC without the need to plug a USB cable directly into the device. Regional retail prices for iRiver’s two new players have yet to be set. These new models follow hot on the heels of iRiver's new combined digital camera and MP3 players, which were released into the market just last month. The iFP-1090 and iFP-1095 feature built-in digital cameras with 1.2" color LCDs, 3x zoom functions and swivel lenses. These devices also offer FM radio tuners with recording capabilities and standard voice recorders, and can, according to iRiver, run for up to 35 hours via their built-in rechargeable batteries. Expect to pay around $299 for the black, 256MB iFP-1090 and $399 for the gold, 512MB iFP-1095.
