Acer woos Kuwaiti corporates

Acer Computer is aiming to expand its corporate customer base in Kuwait through a profile-boosting trip to the country later this month.

Acer Computer is hoping to expand its corporate customer base in Kuwait through a profile-boosting trip to the country later this month. On May 30 a group of senior Acer executives will head to the Sheraton Kuwait to meet more than 50 of Kuwait’s most influential business people. Acer’s staff will demonstrate their firm’s range of servers, notebooks, desktop PCs and monitors, as well as highlighting Acer’s ongoing commitment to the regional market. In particular, Acer expects to see "strong interest" in its latest range of corporate desktop PCs – the Acer Veriton GT. "This year, there has been a significant increase in the level of spending by Kuwait’s corporate sector," said Sunil Kumar, country sales manager - Gulf, Acer Computer Middle East. "The economy is healthy and government departments are keen to invest in updating their IT systems. Hosting an event for this sector of the community provides Acer with the opportunity to educate the market about the latest hardware advancements." "The demand for high-performance desktops is consistently growing in Kuwait. Corporate customers need machines that can process more information at faster speeds," said Kumar. "That is what the Veriton GT7600, GT5600 and GT3600 deliver." Acer unveiled its new Veriton range of desktop machines in March as part of its continued push into the SMB and corporate account sectors. Acer, which describes itself as a brand company due to the fact it does not manufacturer products, forecasts its EMEA sales will climb in excess of US$300m in 2004 from below US$200m in 2003.
