OnLine Distribution has highlighted wireless, network security and enterprise mobility as the major drivers behind its growth in 2003. The networking distributor, which covers a wide geographic area spanning the Middle East, western Asia and North Africa, will keep pushing kit in these areas during 2004 with retail and hospitality at the top of its vertical market hit list. “We have seen definitive growth in our Auto ID, wireless and cabling business, and network security throughout the Middle East,” said Keith Rich, managing director at OnLine Distribution. “We have managed to carve out substantial market shares for our major brands including Symbol, 3Com, Zebra, Molex, Nordx, Ortronics, Trend Micro and SurfControl to name a few. The growth trends are expected to continue, particularly in enterprise mobility with applications of this technology in retail, field sales and service, route accounting, warehousing, logistics, government, hospitality and healthcare sectors.” OnLine will maintain a focus on developing, training and certifying channel partners selling products from its vendor portfolio. “This will ensure standards and quality on all system integration,” explained Rich. “Our efforts to educate end users, consultants and contractors to make an informed choice will continue through our workshops, seminars and informal end user meetings as we have done in the past.” OnLine has also established a new division to examine new product and service areas that enhance its current portfolio. The company also plans to extend after-sales support for partners by beefing up its authorised service center network in the region. Since the termination of OnLine’s distribution agreement with Cisco in early 2004, the networking distributor has worked hard to expand its product portfolio and build deeper links with other major networking vendors. Earlier this month OnLine became the first Middle East distributor to meet 3Com’s requirements for distributing its mid-range enterprise Router 5000 series. OnLine now offers the services of a certified 3Com WAN specialist and will shortly add the services of a 3Com LAN switching specialist.
