3Com, a leading provider of networking technology, has announced a new promotion that offers its most successful resellers the chance to win a trip to the 2004 Olympics in Athens.

In the latest in a series of promotions aimed at partners in the Middle East, 3Com is offering resellers the chance to go to the 2004 Olympics in Athens. The 3Com Olympics promotion is part of an ongoing series of activities designed to promote 3Com’s broad range of networking products in the region. “The 3Com Olympics promotion is the latest 3Com initiative to identify and reward our most successful channel partners,” said Claire Jones, SMB and distribution manager, 3Com Middle East. “We organise these promotions to both thank and encourage our resellers. 3Com’s products deliver real business benefits to companies across the region, and our passionate and highly-trained reseller network is helping to deliver that message to end user customers,” she continued. One prize draw number will be awarded to resellers for every $1,000 they spend on 3Com products from authorised Middle East distributors. Winners will be among the select few people to see the opening ceremony live within the stadium – a spectacle that will attract a television audience of more than 2 billion people. In addition, 3Com’s three highest achieving resellers will be rewarded with Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals every week during the ongoing promotion. The 3Com Olympics promotion is one of a number of opportunities available to 3Com’s partners in the region. So far this year, 3Com has already sent one of its resellers to the Bahrain Grand Prix, and promoted others to “Gold Volume Partner” status, rewarding them for consistently high performance. As part of its growth strategy for 2004, the company has invested heavily in developing, training and rewarding its channel in the region. “One of the major factors that differentiates 3Com in the Middle East is that we are closer to our customers and resellers than any of our competitors,” commented Ghassan Lababidi, marketing manager, 3Com Middle East. “Incentives like the 3Com Olympics promotion demonstrate that we go the extra mile in finding ways to thank our partners, and this – combined with our understanding of the local market, strong partnership programmes, and market-leading products – is why we are building the strongest network of resellers and distributors in the region,” added Lababidi.
