Storage software giant Veritas is gathering together its top regional partners from across the GCC, North Africa and the Levant for a summit in Bahrain today. The event is designed to showcase the company’s storage software vision for 2004 and beyond.

Storage software giant Veritas is gathering together its top regional partners from across the GCC, North Africa and the Levant for a partner summit in Bahrain designed to showcase the company’s storage vision for 2004. During the seminar, held on May 6th 2004, Veritas senior management is presenting partners with information on the latest technologies available and discussing regional trends in the storage market. “The analyst community has made it clear that software is the fastest-growing element of the storage industry,” said Katie Spurgeon, channel manager at Veritas Middle East. “This channel summit gives Veritas’ regional channel a better understanding of our comprehensive solution portfolio, how their customers in the Middle East can leverage those solutions and industry sectors in which new sales opportunities may be emerging here.” At the event, Veritas will highlight its full line-up of products including the company’s data protection range, which is the benchmark for data backup and recovery. The benefits to businesses include protection of critical data, simplified management of data backup and recovery, and consistent, reliable data protection. Utility computing will also be a major focus for the summit in Bahrain. Independent research carried out by Veritas claims that up to 79% of businesses surveyed in the Middle East are deploying internal service level agreements that form the basis of deploying IT as a utility. Communicating the strategic vision to partners is a vital piece of the channel development process. These types of events give the channel the skills and knowledge to display to their customers and pursue upsell opportunities. Storage solutions remains a complex area involving software, services and hardware. It is this complexity, coupled with strong demand for storage solutions, which provides Middle East channel partners with compelling margin opportunities.
