Golden Systems plans graphics grab

The distributor plans summer marketing campaigns in Saudi Arabia and Egypt to promote LeadTek’s new graphics cards.

Golden Systems, the Dubai based distributor is aiming to capture more of the regional graphics market with the launch of a summer marketing campaign in Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Timed to meet the college break this will be launched in conjunction with LeadTek’s unveiling of its latest graphics card offerings. Golden Systems believes that the new graphics cards, sold under the WinFast brand and powered by nVidia’s most powerful chipsets, will prove to be a big success at the higher end of the market. “We are expecting our sales to go up during educational holiday period, with our main target being students who want the power and quality our products provide,” says Sina Dadras, marketing manager at Golden Systems. “We will be holding roadshows and seminars in Egypt and Saudi Arabia, and expect to see good results in a few months.” The regional graphics channel has been shaken by ATi’s announcement that it plans to open a Middle East office here in Dubai. Golden Systems, which is the exclusive distributor for WinFast branded graphics boards, believes that it will not lose market share because of this move. “ATi and nVidia have their own customers,” says Dadras. “While ATi has lower end market share with system integrators, nVidia is the preferred choice of those wanting top quality products. ATi will find that it is very hard to break into this market.”
