MaxComm is hoping its appearance at ITU Africa this week will boost sales of its key product lines. In particular, it is hoping to raise awareness for its outdoor solutions. “Our focus areas at ITU is our 2.4GHz outdoor long distance wireless internet plus voice solution, GSM payphones and wireless LAN,” says Alex Chou, sales manager of MaxComm. “We have done research in Morocco and it looks promising there for GSM and satellite payphone,” he adds. Many of MaxComm’s products are suited to remote areas and therefore useful for large parts of Africa. For example, the GSM W4 Fixed Telephone offers cheaper GSM to GSM calls than alternative offerings.
