Hardware vendor Dell has awarded Al Alamiah Group the title of ‘Platinum Partner’ as well as awarding its Middle East services provider with two international awards in recognition of its achievements during 2003. Al Alamiah is the authorised agent for Dell products in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. Al Alamiah picked up Dell’s EMEA Desktop Partner of the Year award for 2003 at the vendor’s recent distributor conference after selling some 42,000 Dell desktops in Saudi Arabia alone during the course of 2003. Al Alamiah was also awarded a Key Server Cluster Account winner prize after selling some 1,200 network servers during 2003. The latest achievements follow hot-on-the heels of Al Alamiah becoming the first company to be awarded Dell Authorised Service Partner (DASP) status for Kuwait and Saudi Arabia late last year. “We consider receiving this prestigious title, and the two key awards, to be the fruits of the joint efforts between our Group and Dell in serving the markets of the Middle East, particularly Saudi Arabia and Kuwait,” said Fahad Al Sharekh, Business Development Director, Al Alamiah Group. “These awards also represent Al Alamiah Group's continued success and reinforces our exceptional role in providing comprehensive solutions, IT products and services throughout Saudi Arabia and the region.” Al Alamiah plays a vital role for Dell in building its presence across the Middle East. This is one region where Dell’s direct principles have been forced to make way for the local touch and engagement skills offered by regional specialist such as Al Alamiah.
