Bahrain and Pakistan have signed an Air Services Agreement that will allow Gulf Air and Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) to both operate weekly services between Bahrain and both Peshawar and Lahore. The deal will also allow the carriers to codeshare on flights to the two Pakistani cities. "This agreement will help PIA to consolidate its services base in Bahrain. As earlier there was no direct flight to Lahore by PIA hence people had to get connecting flights from other GCC points causing a lot of difficulties," Junaid Sophie, general manager, industry affairs marketing, PIA, told the Bahrain Tribue. "We are positive that the new flights by both national carriers will boost the business, commercial and tourism activities. We will continue to work closely with Gulf air to explore further opportunities," he added.
