Avaya, the communications vendor has appointed Nidal Abou Ltaif as the new managing director (MD) for the Middle East and North Africa sub-region. Based out of the Dubai office, Avaya’s new MD will report to Ivan Arrieta, vice president Mediterranean, Middle East and Africa. Abou Ltaif said his primary focus would be to help customers across his operating region, migrate their communications networks to IP Telephony. “The trend towards enhanced communication networks is translating into an increase in the numbers of large-scale telephony solutions such as contact centres in the region that IP telephony is particularly well suited to address these needs,” says Avaya’s new managing director. Prior to working in Avaya, Ltaif, had a stint with NCR Corporation as director of sales and services for Middle East, Africa and East Europe. He has also held positions with AT&T. Nidal has a BSC degree and an MBA from Washington International University and has worked with various IT and communications companies in the region over the past 20 years.
