On the heels of announcing the tallest tower in Sharjah, Al Omran Global Contracting is eyeing the lucrative Dubai property market. The company has acquired three plots near Jumeirah Lake Towers and will construct three towers of 35, 35 and 40-storeys at a total cost of Dhs600 million. “We have received up to 40 proposed designs. Soon our board will meet to finalise the designs,” Abdul Hannan A. Mohammed, company executive director, told Construction Week. “We want to make a landmark with our signature building which will complement Dubai’s skyline,” he adds. As to competition, Hannan says: “The market in Dubai is really vibrant and open to all. There we can sell our apartments to UAE and GCC nationals, GCC and expatriates. I don’t think we face any competition”.
