In a move to strengthen its Middle East operations, Stonesoft, the enterprise network security company, today announced plans to establish a presence in Saudi Arabia as part of plans to increase Middle East growth. The plans include the promotion of Jari Valvisto, current director for the Middle East, to VP for Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa. Valvisto will now report directly to Stonesoft’s CEO Jorma Turnen. “The Middle East is a key Stonesoft market, and we are expecting strong growth in enterprise security solutions over the coming years. The appointment of a regional vice president, underlines how seriously we regard the region to the future success of our business,” said Jorma Turnen. As part of ambitious growth plans Stonesoft has appointed Nadyn Kesserwany as sales and marketing executive. Kesserwany, who was responsible for the Jordanian, Lebanese, Kuwaiti, Saudi Arabian and Syrian markets, aims to establish Stonesoft as a regional leader in enterprise network security in verticals such as oil and gas, banking, telecoms, and services. “In the Middle East, there is a strong demand for integrated network security solutions, that offer central manageability and lower ownership costs,” said Valvisto. “We now have a strong team in place to drive business growth, as well as ensuring the highest possible service to both customers, and our partners.” Stonesoft opened its regional headquarters in February 2004, and provides network security services and software such as firewalls, virtual private network (VPN), and intrusion detection systems (IDS. This announcement proves Stonesoft’s commitment to its Middle East operations, and its desire to drive growth in the region.
