CNBC Arabiya is improving its infrastructure facilities with the addition of an Orator talk back system and Mentor sync pulse generators (SPG) from Trilogy Broadcast Ltd. Orator digital intercom uses a high-speed TDM architecture to provide wide band audio signal switching and mixing of up to 36 inputs and outputs. Orator's flexibility will provide CNBC Arabiya with intercom facilities for the whole station including news programming using live links from affiliates in London, Bahrain, Egypt and the Lebanon. The Mentor SPGs are being used to provide the station master timing reference feeds and to give a source of test signals for maintenance and lineup. "The master reference sync pulse generators make up the heart of the system,” commented Aaron Shaw, director of operations and engineering at CNBC Arabiya. “We needed a reliable, simple to configure SPG and we found it at Trilogy, which provides highly reliable and cost effective equipment," he added.
