Security software vendor Symantec has appointed Information Management Technologies (IMT) as its first Managed Security Services Partner (MSSP) in Saudi Arabia. Under the partnership, IMT will provide complete management of client environments including risk profiling, vulnerability assessment and consulting services. IMT is a subsidiary of Al Suwaidi Holding Company — one of the Kingdom’s leading end-to-end IT solutions providers. “More and more organizations are realizing the value of information and are taking protective measures by using Managed Security Services in conjunction with Secure Operations Centre backing” said Vernon Fryer divisional head of information security and risk management at IMT. “We believe that organizations have identified the threat of doing things on their own. Our infrastructure and expertise make us best qualified for providing a complete managed security service to our clients with the backing of Symantec’s extensive monitoring facilities.” “In the past a company would be on its own in the event of an attack; managed security gives organisations access to the knowledge of security experts in order to protect their networked assets and infrastructure,” said Kevin Isaac, regional director Symantec Middle East and Africa. “Corporate firewalls, intrusion detections systems, and other security devices generate an immense volume of data that is virtually impossible to interpret without consuming significant in-house IT staff resources”. IMT has met strict criteria set down by Symantec to pick up MSSP status. The two companies will provide clients in the Middle East with high level managed security services able to detect, analyse and respond to security data produced on networks in real time.
