Stanley Baker Hill joint venture wins top Iraq construction management support contracts

US construction firm awarded $1.2 billion five year Iraq reconstruction contract

Stanley Baker Hill LLC has been awarded a contract by the US Army Corps of Engineers, Transatlantic Programs Center (TAC), to provide construction management services to assist the Coalition Provisional Authority Program Management Office (PMO) in the reconstruction of Iraq. Stanley Baker Hill, a joint venture company of Stanley Consultants, Michael Baker Jr and Hill International will provide construction management support for activities being performed for the PMO. The contract is initially for one year, with four additional one-year option periods. The maximum value of the contract is up to US $300 million for the base year, $300 million for the first option year, and $200 million for each of the three subsequent option years, with the contract worth a total of $1.2 billion over five years. “We are extremely pleased to be able to assist the Program Management Office with the rebuilding efforts in support of the Iraq Reconstruction Program,” said James Hollatz, senior vice president & head of Stanley Consultants’ International Division and also the joint venture’s program executive for this contract. “Stanley Consultants and Baker are currently in Iraq working directly for the Coalition Provisional Authority, and Hill International is one of the largest firms providing construction management services in the Middle East. The combined resources of our firms will enable our team to continue to serve our nation overseas as we have done for over 25 years. The Stanley Baker Hill joint venture welcomes this challenge,” Hollatz added. Construction management services provided by the joint venture will include quality assurance support and various ancillary functions associated with the management of large construction projects.
